So you are having one of those days. Nothing is going right, everyone is tap dancing on your nerves and you are feeling down. You don't have to feel this way. Before you curl up in bed, turn on the Fiona Apple and eat a pint of Ben & Jerry's, remember that you can boost your mood within hours! And no, I am not talking about a trip to the therapist's office or the quick fix inside a bottle of anti-depressants. I am talking about the most effective drug of all - exercise.

Did you know that just one workout can change your mood drastically? Exercise releases neurotransmitters and endorphins (or as I like to call them, 'feel good brain chemicals') that help to ease depression and alleviate stress. An intense workout can also reduce the immune system chemicals that lead to depression. Not to mention, sweat increases your body temperature, which has a calming effect on the whole body.

Taking part in a fun form of exercise will take your mind off your problems. And if you work out consistently, it can help to boost your confidence. I mean who has the time to feel down when you are flaunting a sexy bod and an optimistic attitude?!

Let's take a look at some workouts that can drastically lift your mood:

KICKBOXING - It's fun and a great way to get your aggression out. Visualize your annoying boss or that aggravating friend of yours.

WALKING - Taking long walks can be very relaxing and calming. Find a beautiful park with breathtaking scenery and just take it all in.

WEIGHT LIFTING - It tones the body, leading to a leaner and firmer physique and the confidence that comes with it!

RUNNING - It helps you push your body to the limit and also releases endorphins quickly.

So when you are having one of those days (or even weeks), don't let negative feelings take over. Exercise will make you feel like the beautiful, confident and sexy woman that you are!
